Note: I do not quite follow who is who in this story, and what exactly happens. Where the English translation is confusing, it mirrors confusions in the German. 

1. ekIda'ayo ukE'Epa ehuo'o kinô'ô:îÊ edi'obudia uaha:Iadi kiEkÊmô oukaka : kapadi'oha eka'a:i'iodia kudE ouabEha.
1. (In) der Erzählung vom ehuo'o-Vogel wurde folgendermaßen von ihm verfahren bei der Suche nach einer Waffe gegen die Menschen : Er fertigte sich einen Speer aus Bambus an.
1. (In) the tale of the ehuo'o-bird as follows was done by him during the search for a weapon against the people: he made himself a spear of bamboo.

Und dann befahl er seinem jüngeren Bruder, (daß) er dorther komme, und (daß) er den Abfall fortwerfe, damit sein jüngerer Bruder komme.
And then he commanded his younger brother, (that) he come there, and (that) he throw away the rubbish, so that his younger brother may come.

Da versuchte er seinen Speer an seinem jüngeren Bruder, (indem) er damit nach ihm warf, und er zerschmetterte seinen Fuß.
Then he tested his spear on his younger brother, (in that) he threw it at him, and he smashed his foot.

ka e'anaha kabudohoixa eâhâ:î ukaka i'uE, kaha badahIa'a u'a:iyo ibaka u'uE kanîÎ Dada'Ia'a.
Da hörte der (andere) jünngere Bruder, der Mann am Meer (es), der gegangen war, um Fische in der Fahrrinne des Meeres zu fangen, die Dada'Ia'a hieß.
At that the (other) younger brother, the man by the sea, who had gone to catch fish in the shipping-lane of the sea, which was called Dada'Ia'a, heard (it).

Er sprach zu seinem einen jüngeren Bruder, er (solle) in den Wipfel des Baumes namens eka'a'aho steigen.
He spoke to his one younger brother, he (should) climb into the crown of the tree called eka'a'aho.

2. kamÊnâmîxâ ekaka hoo bia i'uE.
2. Er sah von oben, (daß) sich Leute am Meer befanden.
2. He saw from up (there), (that) there were people by the sea.

ka e'anaha kipuakaha daha:E iNâhâ ukaka i'uE.
Da brachen sie auf, und sie gingen an den Aufenthaltsort der Menschen am Meer.
At that they set out, and they went to the place-of-being of the people by the sea.

kabupuduha ekaka hômô'ô kaha:E i'uE, ikanâ:îNâ'â:Înâ.

He killed the people, who went to the sea; he destroyed (them) all.

He (also) killed a pregnant-woman, (and) he put his foot there; it is now (still) there.

1. ekIda'ayo uhuda kaha:i'i, kinô'ô:î'îÊ eaha:Edia : kia kikia iuba, bE dadudia kaha:E i'uE, yabaiyada'a i'uE.
1. Folgendermaßen ist der Hergang der Erzählung von einer Frau : Sie war zuhause, weil ihr Mann ans Meer gegangen war, und er war am Meer geblieben.
1. As follows is the proceeding of the tale of a woman: She was at home, because her husband had gone to the sea, and he had stayed at the sea.

kako'a'aixaha edopo, kamâhâ:ôhôhâ ehuda, kabIadixa kiE'uaha:o kûkûhûû kia ka'a'ânô.

And when night fell, at that the woman was frightened, she (sought her words=) spoke, as if she had a companion.

She rolled a coconut-shell back and forth, (and) she went to the door:

bE hoo buododa'a eapôô udopo, kaha:ixa pahuhudu epuao e'ana yaha:E i'uohoadia.
Weil die Nacht bereits weit fortgeschritten war, rollte sie jene Kokosschale wieder nach ihrer Schlafstelle.
Because the night was already advanced, she rolled the coconut-shell to her sleeping-place again.

kabaiyo'o:ixa yaha:E yaba'uoho.
Sie folgte ihr, damit sie schliefe.
She followed it, so that she may sleep.

Da kam ein Teufel, und er fraß jene Frau auf.
Then a devil came, and ate that woman up.

kadIhIdaha eônôô uko'E'E e'ana, kabupuakaha eko'E'E, yaiyo'o:itaha dadu uhuda hÊmô'ô enôônîâ eko'E'E e'ana.
Nachdem das Auffressen des Teufels beendet war, machte sich der Teufel auf den Weg, (damit) er dem Manne der Frau folge, die von (jenem Teufel =) ihm gefressen wurde.
After the devouring of the devil was ended, the devil set out on his way, (so that) he may follow the husband of the women, who was eaten by (that devil=) him.
Setelah selesai memangsa, iblis itu pun berangkat, (kemudian) ia mengikuti suami dari wanita, yang dimakan olehnya (iblis).
Note: Also ambiguous in German. From the context, it is clear that the devil is doing the devouring.

2. yabaiTixixa ekaka ka'aha:ona ouhuda e'ana, kabu'uaha   : "'oo kaiyadita u'ai!"
2. Er rief den Mann, der mit jener Frau verheiratet war, (und) er sprach : “Wohlan, bleibe dort, ich komme !"
2. He called the man, who was married to that woman, (and) he spoke: "Alright, stay there, I am coming!"
2. Ia memanggil laki-laki tersebut, yang menikahi wanita itu, (dan) ia berbicara: "Baiklah, tetap di sana, aku datang!"

kamûnâ'âhâ e'a:iyo akodu, kabudodoha, kaba:i'io'ia'aha ouko'E'E, dibaha:Eha.
Da nahm er drei Fische, er ergriff sie, und er folgte dem Teufel; sie machten sich auf den Weg.
At that he took three fish, he grasped them, and he followed the devil; they set out on their way.

kEaba'a ipIhai epanÊÊ hii kia.
Aber er vermochte sich ihm nicht zu nähern.
But he could not approach him.

ka e'anaha kabaixa kia eamaka'â:ûâ'â, eko'E'Eda'a kia, bE kEaba'a ipIhai eapanÊÊ hii kia.
Und deshalb kam ihm der Gedanke, (daß) er der Teufel sei, weil er sich ihm nicht zu nähern vermochte.
And thus he had the thought, (that) he might be the devil, because he could not approach him.
Dan dengan demikian ia pun berpikir, (bahwa) ini mungkin iblis, karena ia tidak bisa mendekatinya.

kabudapuha e'a:iyo e'ana ibaka uboo, kabaha:Eha iubadia, yabapIaha honânîâ hoo kuinânâ'â hoo ba'ao enînôô uko'E'E e'ana.
Er ließ die Fische in der Fahrrinne des Meeres los (und) ging nach Hause, damit er sehe, (ob) seine Frau tatsächlich bereits gestorben war, (weil) sie vom Teufel gefressen wurde.
He let go of the fish in the shipping-lane of the sea (and) went home, so that he may see, (whether) his wife had really already died, (because) she was eaten by the devil.
Ia melepaskan ikan di jalur pelayaran laut (dan) pulang ke rumah, agar ia bisa melihat, (apakah) istrinya benar-benar sudah meninggal, (karena) dimakan oleh si iblis.

Tale of a man, who was dragged away by the devil by means of a board.
Kisah seorang laki-laki, yang diseret oleh iblis melalui sebuah papan.

1. kabukixE eko'E'E ekaka e'ana, kakubodEha kamûnâ'â yaha:E ixEdia uhuao, yapa'uohoha itita.
1. Der Teufel zog jenen Menschen fort, er hob ihn hoch, brachte ihn nach dem Strand des (Meeres-)Ufers und legte (ihn) dort nieder.
1. The devil dragged that person away, he lifted him up, brought him to the beach of the bank (of the sea) and laid (him) down there.
1. Iblis menyeret orang itu jauh, ia mengangkatnya, membawanya ke pantai di tepian (laut) dan membaringkan(nya) di sana.

kabIadixa kiEkÊmô.
Dann suchte er sich eine Waffe.
Then he sought himself a weapon.

kabupIa i'oki kEaba'a ekuo ku'uoho itita.
Er sah, (daß) dart am Ufer keine Bäume lagen.
He saw, (that) no trees lay there by the bank.

ka e'anaha kabaixa eamaka'â:ûâ'ânîâ.
Und deshalb kam ihm ein Gedanke.
And thus he had a thought.

kabupIaha kaha:i'i e'aa uamÊÊ ki'uoho ixoo u'uE ipoko.

He saw the (bone=) shell of a giant-shellfish, which lay at the bottom of the sea.

And it sprayed the person, whom the devil had laid down.

(Then) he sat up and saw, that his place-of-being was a different one.

Der Mann lief fort, weil er vor dem Teufel ängstlich war.
The man ran away, because he was frightened of the devil.

kamûnâ'âhâ kiEkÊmô e'ea.
Er nahm als seine Waffe einen Stein.
He took as his weapon a stone.

(Then) he lay in wait for the devil.

kabaixa eko'E'E, kaiyo'oi kia, kapa:i'ioha e'ea i'ioo uko'E'E.
(Als) der Teufel kam, folgte er ihm, und er warf den Stein nach dem Teufel.
(When) the devil came, he followed him, and he threw the stone at the devil.

"Baiklah, ambillah tombak untuk dirimu; (batu) edahaboa akan menjadi tombakmu!"

2. ka e'anaha dipakaixa ki arua.
2. Und dann warfen sie beide nach einander.
2. And then they both threw at each other.

kapa:i'ioha ekaka i'ioo uko'E'E, kabapu'uaha iu'uoho itita.
(Als) der Mensch nach dem Teufel warf, fiel er hin und blieb dort liegen.
(When) the person threw at the devil, he fell down and remained lying there.
(Ketika) orang itu melempar iblis, ia terjatuh dan tetap terbaring di sana.

ka e'anaha kabupuaha ekaka hÊmô'ô kipapudu hii eko'E'E, yamâ:înâ'â:ûâ ixÊ'â upitu.
Da lief der Mann, der mit dem Teufel kämpfte, fort, und er kletterte in den Wipfel eines epitu-Baumes.
At that the man, who fought with the devil, ran away, and he climbed into the crown of an epitu-tree.

Da stand der Teufel auf, er folgte ihm; er machte sich auf den Weg, und er erblickte ihn im Wipfel des Baumes namens epaha:i'ũãhã, den er erklettert hatte.
At that the devil stood up, he followed him; he set out on his way, and he saw him in the top of the tree called epaha:i'ûâhâ, which he had climbed.
Kemudian si iblis berdiri, ia mengikutinya; ia berangkat, dan ia melihatnya di atas pohon yang disebut epaha: i'ûâhâ, yang telah ia panjat.

kamôhôhâ ekaka hoo bia itEbE, kapaku'a'aha ekitahau, ixauda eko'E'E e'ana.
Und der Mann, der sich oben befand, befahl einem Hundertfüßler, daß er den Teufel beiße.
And the man who was up (there), commanded a centipede, that he bite the devil.
Dan laki-laki yang berada di atas (sana), memerintahkan seekor kelabang, untuk menggigit si iblis.

"koroa i'ioo'o:u na'apûânû!"
“Verschone mich, euren Vorfahren!"
"Spare me, your ancestor !"
"Lepaskan aku, leluhurmu!"
Note: this is either Accusative singular or Dative plural in German, i.e. could be translated "for your (pl) ancestors". The translation I give above seems more likely - it seems plausible that the centipede should be a descendent of the devil.

kanô'ôâhâ eiTi uko'E'E kikoroi ekitahau e'ana.
So waren die Worte des Teufels, den der Hundertfußler verschonte.
So were the words of the devil, whom the centipede spared.
Begitulah kata-kata si iblis, yang dilepas kelabang.

kabupuaha ekaka mÊ hoo mânîkâ edopo.
Und da floh der Mann, weil es bereits hell wurde.
And at that the man fled, because it was already dawning (becoming light).

iNâânâ'â iubadia, yabakIda'a i'ioo ka'ânônîâ hômô'ô kaha:i'i eka'udara hii kia.

When he was home, he told (it) his friends, who were of a village with him.

1. Es gibt eine Erzählung von einem Menschen, der ehebrechen wollte.
1. There is a tale of a person, who wanted to commit adultery.
1. Ada kisah tentang seseorang yang ingin berzina.

kapanâûha hii 'ânônîâ ehuda e'ana, ki kaha:Ea pakoba ianâpûâ ixao.
Er (be)sprach mit seiner Freundin, (daß) sie gehen wollten, um sich am Waldeseingang am Meeresstrand zu treffen.
He spoke (arranged) with his (female) friend, (that) they wanted to go, to meet by the forest-entrance by the sea-beach.
Laki-laki ini berbicara (mengatur waktu) dengan teman (perempuan)nya, (bahwa) mereka ingin pergi, bertemu di pintu-masuk hutan di tepi pantai (laut).

kE'anaha kabiaha kaha:i'i eko'E'E kitohoi epanâû ukaka arua nÊ'Ênî.
Da hörte eine Dämonin das Gespräch der beiden Menschen von vorhin.
At that a (female) demon heard the conversation of these two people from before.

kabaha:Eha eko'E'E ixao, ikuhEditaha ehuda hÊmô'ô kipakÊnÊ hii ekaka emânî e'ana.

The (female) demon went to the sea-beach, and she replaced the woman, who had said goodbye to that man.

The man (then) spoke as follows: "Are you already come?"

kE'anaha kabaixa eamaka'â:ûâ'ânîâ emânî e'ana, bE kEoba'a inô'ôâhâ eiya 'ânônîâ hÊmô'ô ekudodo ukaka hÊmô'ô kipakÊnÊ hii kia nÊ'Ênî.

At that the (female) demon, to whom the child belonged, which she had laid by the edge of the water, ran away.

Then the person grasped the baby, and he took it with him into his house.

yapa:Idaha epaE e'ana, yakapûû epaE e'ana.
Er zog das Kind groß, bis es erwachsen war.
He raised the child, until it was grown up.

ahoo kapûû epaE e'ana, kapadadua'aha earadia edipa:Idadia oumânî.

kE'anaha kipaha:uaha ki anôhâ:îâ.
Deshalb zürnten die beiden Ehefrauen einander.
Thus the two wives were angry at one another.
Karenanya, kedua istri itu menjadi marah satu sama lain.

edipa:uaha'a ukopi upoo eu'udoho:ita.
Sie gerieten um ein Stück Kokosnuß, das ihr Haarwaschmittel war, in Streit miteinander.
They got into a fight with each other about a piece of coconut, which was their hair wash (i.e. it was that with which they washed their hair).
Mereka bertengkar karena sepotong kelapa, yang merupakan pencuci rambut mereka (yaitu yang digunakan untuk mencuci rambut mereka).

kE'anaha kabu'uaha nô'ô:î'îÊ hÊmô'ô ehuda ekaka itE'E   : "mÊô ukanaiNâ'â:ûnânâ'â ekopi upoo i'ioo'o:u doo kikia 'o'Epoo itE'E?
Deshalb sprach die Menschenfrau (von) hier folgendermaßen : “Weshalb hast du das Stück Kokosnuß, das mir gehorte, verbraucht, als ob du hier Kokospalmen besäßest ?
Thus the human wife (from) here spoke as follows: "Why did you use up the piece of coconut, which belongs to me, as if you owned coconut-palms here?

ekabakE kEaba'a epoo".
Einer Missetäterin gehören keine Kokospalmen".

Seorang penjahat tidak memiliki pohon kelapa ".

kE'anaha kabu'oaha ekitai hÊmô'ô ehuda kaha:i'i eara uko'E'E nÊ'Ênî.
Da war die Frau, die eine Tochter der Dämonin von vorhin war, zornig.
At that the woman, who was a daughter of the demon from before, was angry.
Wanita itu, yang merupakan putri dari si iblis, marah.

kabIadixa kiE'Ekoa yaha:E yabapIa ka'ânônîâ.
Sie suchte sich einen Weg, (denn) sie ging, um ihre Freunde zu sehen.
She sought herself a path, (for) she went to see her friends.

kamînôîxâ edopo kanîÎ epudikaha.
Sie grub das Land namens epudikaha auf.
She dug up the land called epudikaha.

kakEpI'Iaha yaha ipoko yabapIaha kaho'ûpûnîâ itita; yabaiyaha itita.
(Und als) sie sich in die Tiefe begab, erblickte sie dort ihre Ahnen; und sie blieb dort.
(And when) she went into the depths, she there saw her ancestors; and she stayed there.
(Dan ketika) ia sampai di kedalaman, di sana ia melihat leluhurnya; dan ia pun tinggal di sana.

He followed her to the plantation, which she had agreed upon with her husband.

kE'anaha dibaho'obua'aha i'ioo uka:i'iora, kamûkôônâ'â ehopa udopo hÊmô'ô enînôînîâ.
Als sie wiederholt mit ihren Speeren warfen, trafen sie das Erdloch, das sie gegraben hatte.
When they repeatedly threw their spears, they hit the earth-hole, which she had dug.
Ketika mereka berulang kali melemparkan tombak, mereka menabrak lubang tanah, yang telah ia (wanita itu) gali.

kakEpI'Ia eka'iora, kapaka'â:ûâ'âhâ ehuda e'ana eka'a:i'io uaradia hii eka'a:i'io dadudia.
(Als) ihre Speere hineinfielen, wußte die Frau, daß es der Speer ihres Kindes und der ihres Mannes waren.
(When) their spears fell in, the woman knew, that it was the spear of her child and that of her husband.
(Ketika) tombak mereka jatuh, wanita itu tahu bahwa itu adalah tombak anaknya dan tombak suaminya.

kE'anaha diba:i'ioixa e'Ekoadia yaha ipoko, dibu'Edohaha ipI'Ia'a kanîÎ ei'îâ.
Alsdann folgten sie ihrem Weg in die Tiefe, indem sie sich an ein ei'ĩã genanntes Rotan(tau) hängten.
Then they followed her path into the depths, by hanging themselves onto a rattan(-rope) called ei'îâ.
Kemudian mereka mengikuti jalannya ke kedalaman, dengan menggantung diri di atas (tali) rotan yang disebut ei'îâ.

4. dakI'Iaha ipoko ixabaiya honânîâ.
4. (So) gelangten sie in die Tiefe nach dem Aufenthaltsort seiner Frau.
4. (So) they got into the depths to the place-of-being of his wife.
4. (Akhirnya) mereka mencapai kedalaman yang merupakan tempat dari istrinya.

"mÊô uabaiya itE'E?
“Weshalb bist du hier geblieben?
"Why did you stay here?
"Mengapa engkau tinggal di sini?

hoo piaka'a:ua uaha:Iadi i'iôômû.
Ich bin des Suchens nach dir schon müde.
I am already tired of searching for you.
Aku sudah lelah mencarimu.

kEaba'a upakô'ôhôâ'â 'a'o ixoo upiaka, doo kipaha:ua 'ika".
(Denn) ich fand dich nicht in der Pflanzung, als ob wir einander zurnten".
(For) I did not find you in the plantation, as if we were angry at each other".
(Karena) aku tidak menemukanmu di perkebunan, seolah-olah kita saling marah satu sama lain ".

"hE kuinânâ'â, kEaba'a kapaha:ua, kE eiTi î'îâ'â:û ki'oaha edi'uadia i'ioo'o:u.
“Ja gewiß, wir zürnen einander nicht, aber die Worte meiner Mitehefrau zu mir waren (haßlich =) bösartig.
"Yes of course, we are not angry at each other, but the words of my sister-wife (literally: together-wife) to me were (ugly=) evil-natured.
"Ya tentu saja, kita tidak marah satu sama lain, tapi perkataan saudara wanitaku (secara harfiah: istri bersama/madu) kepadaku bersifat jahat (jelek).

e'anaha 'ubaixa itE'E iNâhâ ka'ânô'o:u.
Deshalb kam ich hierher an den Aufenthaltsort meiner Gefährten.
Thus I came here to the place-of-being of my companions.
Jadi aku datang ke sini ke tempat teman-temanku berada.

kE nô'ônî 'ua ki'uaha i'iôômû   : uabakIda'a i'oo î'îâ'â:û epoo'o:u kikia, ekô'îâû'û kikia, e'ou'u kikia, kE adoo î'îâ'â:û i'uada kEaba'a 'uEû'â!"
Aber jetzt werde ich zu dir sagen: “Erzähle meiner Mitehefrau, (daß) meine Kokospalmen vorhanden sind, (daß) meine ekõ'ĩãũ-Bäume, (und daß) meine e'ou-Bäume vorhanden sind, wenn meine Mitehefrau etwa sagen sollte, daß ich nichts zu essen habe!''
But now I will say to you: "Tell my sister-wife, (that) my coconut-palms exist, (that) my ekô'îâû-trees, (and that) my e'ou-trees exist, if my sister-wife should say, that I have nothing to eat!"
Tetapi sekarang aku akan berkata kepadamu: "Katakanlah pada maduku, (bahwa) pohon kelapaku ada disana, (yaitu) pohon ekô'îâû, (dan bahwa) pohon-e'ou ku ada, jika maduku mengatakan, bahwa aku tidak punya apa-apa untuk dimakan! "

kE'anaha dipakÊnÊhâ hii dadudia kixiia baida'a iubada.
Alsdann verabschiedeten sie sich, und ihr Mann kam wieder in ihr Haus (zurück).
Then they said farewell and her husband came (back) into their house again.
Kemudian mereka berpamitan dan suaminya pun (kembali) ke rumah mereka lagi.

5. kapuakaha dadudia, yai yabapIa ûpûnâ.
5. Da machte sich ihr Mann auf den Weg, damit er seine Ahnen sehe.
5. At that her husband set out on his way, so that he may see his ancestors.
5. Saat itu suaminya berangkat, agar ia bisa melihat leluhurnya.

kahE'Ea'a ukEhEdia.
Er schliff sein Beil.
He sharpened his hatchet.
Ia mengasah kapaknya.

kamûnâ'â ekEhE uûpûnâ ipIada kabipua'aha u'aa uudu uûpûnâ e'ana.
Dann nahm er das Beil seiner Ahnen, er betrachtete es, und dann zertrümmerte er die Schädel der Ahnen damit.
Then he took the hatchet of his ancestors, he looked at it, and then he smashed the ancestors' skulls with it.

Darauf floh er, weil er seine Ahnen zerschmettert hatte, in ihr Haus oben und erzählte es seinen Gefahrten, die seine Dorfgenossen waren.
Thereafter he fled, because he had smashed his ancestors, up into their house and told his companions, who were his village-companions, about (it).

kinô'ô:î'îÊ edi'uadia upakÊnÊ   : "nâ'ûmânâ kabaha:E iboo, kabaha'a:oi 'ikEboo!"
Folgendermaßen sprach (sie =) die eine beim Abschied : “Morgen laß uns ans Wasser gehen, laß uns Wasser für uns schopfen!"
As follows (she=) one of them spoke at the(ir) parting: "Tomorrow let us go to the water, let us scoop water for us!"
Dikisahkan(ia =) salah satu dari mereka berkata ketika berpisah: "Besok ayo pergi ke air, ayo ambil air untuk keperluan kita!"

"hE nô'ôâhâ", e'uaha 'ânônîâ mô'ô kaha:i'i.
“Wohlan, so sei es", waren die Worte ihrer einen Gefährtin.
"Alright, so be it", were the words of their one companion.
"Baiklah, ayo" demikian sahut salah satu teman mereka.

kabiaha kaha:i'i eko'E'E kitohoi epanâû ukaka arua e'ana.
Nun war vorhanden, daß eine Dämonin die Unterhaltung jener beiden Menschen gehört hatte.
Now it was the case, that a (female) demon had heard the conversation of those two people.
Sekarang masalahnya, seorang iblis (wanita) telah mendengar percakapan kedua orang itu.

kamânîkâhâ edopo, kabaha:Eha eko'E'E yabakuhEdixa ekaka hÊmô'ô ehuda mô'ô kipahakûkûâ'â hii 'ânônîâ.
Und (als) es tagte, da machte sich die Dämonin auf den Weg, damit sie den (einen) Menschen vertrete, der die Frau war, die sich mit ihrer Freundin verabredet hatte.
And (when) it dawned, then the (female) demon set out on her way, so that she may substitute the (one) person, who was the woman, who had arranged to meet with her friend.
Dan (ketika) fajar tiba, iblis (wanita) itu berangkat dalam perjalanannya, sehingga ia menggantikan (salah satu), wanita, yang telah membuat janji dengan temannya.

"kaha!",
“Laß uns gehen!"
"Let us go!"

"'ou", e'uaha uhuda mû'âmî eiTi 'ânônîâ; bE kia kahâ:îkû 'ânônîâ, 'okûmûnâhâ eko'E'E.
“Ja", sagte da die Frau (sich beziehend) auf die Worte ihrer Freundin; denn sie glaubte, es sei ihre Freundin; aber in Wirklichkeit war es die Dämonin.
"Yes", then said the woman (answering) to the words of her friend; for she believed, that it was her friend; but in reality it was the (female) demon.
"Ya", kata wanita itu (menjawab) kata-kata temannya; karena ia percaya bahwa itu adalah temannya; tapi kenyataannya itu adalah iblis (wanita).

kabaha:Eha yabapIaha kia ikômÊâ kanîÎ eko'oko'o.
Deshalb machte sie sich auf den Weg, damit sie sie auf der Brücke namens eko'oko'o aufsuche.
Thus she set out on her way, so that she may seek out the bridge called eko'oko'o.
Jadi ia pun berangkat, sehingga ia mencapai jembatan yang disebut eko'oko'o.

kabu'uaha eko'E'E nô'ô:î'îÊ   : "hE abIha hoo 'ika bai ixakabaha'a:oi uboo.
Da sprach die Dämonin folgendermaßen: “Es ist in Ordnung, weil wir zum Wasserschöpfen gekommen sind.
At that the demon spoke as follows: "It is alright, because we have come to scoop water.
Mendengar itu si iblis berkata sebagai berikut: "Tidak apa-apa, karena kita datang untuk mengambil air.

'opa'uohopE enô'ôhômû iTita, kamûnôôpÊ emÊhÊkâ ka'u'ua enôhôâ!
Lege du deine Schulterlast dort nieder, laß uns (zuvor) unsere Nahrung essen, deren Geschmack schön ist!
You lay down your shoulder-load, let us (first) eat our food, the taste of which is nice!
Letakkanlah dulu beban bahumu, ayo (pertama-tama) kita makan, yang rasanya enak!

kamûhÊkûpÊ ikômÊâ kanîÎ eko'oko'o!"
Setzen wir uns (dabei) auf die Brücke namens eko'oko'o!"
Let us sit (during this) on the bridge named eko'oko'o!"

3. "Go", said the demon, "to the middle of the bridge and sit there!

kamûnôôhâ emÊhÊkâ ekai ukoyo ikômÊâ eko'oko'o!"
(Dann) essen wir unsere Nahrung, nämlich Schweinekot, auf der eko'oko'o-Brücke !"
(Then) we will eat our food, namely pig-dung, on the eko'oko'o-bridge!"
(Kemudian) kita akan makan makanan kita, yaitu kotoran babi, di jembatan eko'oko'o! "

"kaua", e'uaha uhuda hÊmô'ô ekaka nÊ'Ênî hÊmô'ô enînÊnÊâhâ:î uko'E'E.
“Ich will nicht", sagte die Frau, die der Mensch von vorhin war, den die Dämonin getäuscht hatte.
"I do not want to", said the woman, who was the person from before, whom the (female) demon had tricked.
"Aku tidak mau," kata wanita itu, yang adalah manusia sebelumnya, yang telah ditipu oleh iblis (wanita) itu.

"'ouaha:E 'o'o iyû'ûû ukômÊâ!"
“Geh du in die Mitte der Brücke !"
"You go to the middle of the bridge!"
"Pergilah ke tengah jembatan!"

e'uaha ukaka i'ioo 'ânônîâ hÊmô'ô eko'E'E.
sagte die Frau zu ihrer Gefährtin, die eine Dämonin war.
said the woman to her companion, who was a (female) demon.
kata wanita itu kepada temannya, yang adalah iblis (wanita).

kabaha:Eha eko'E'E yamâhÊkû iyû'ûû ukômÊâ e'ana; kabukopixa emÊhÊnâ ekai ukoyo, kabupEEha kahapu'u i'ioo 'ânônîâ ekaka hÊmô'ô kixÊhÊkûmâhâ:Ê ixoku ukômÊâ ika'a uboo e'ana.
Da ging die Dämonin und setzte sich in die Mitte der Brücke ; sie zerbröckelte ihre Nahrung, nämlich den Schweinekot, und gab einen Teil an ihre Gefährtin, die Frau, die auch am Ende der Brücke am Rande des Wassers sitzengeblieben war.
At that the (female) demon went and sat in the middle of the bridge; she broke up her food, namely the pig-dung, and gave a part to her companion, the woman, who had also remained seated by the end of the bridge on the edge of the water.
Saat itu iblis (wanita) pergi dan duduk di tengah jembatan; Ia memecah makanannya, yaitu kotoran babi, dan memberikan sebagian kepada temannya, si wanita, yang juga tetap duduk di ujung jembatan di tepian air.

kimûnôôhâ hÊmô'ô ekai ukoyo e'ana.
Sie aßen den Schweinekot.
They ate the pig-dung.
Mereka memakan kotoran babi.

kE edixoo paka'â:ûâ'â ukaka nÊ'Ênî, eko'E'E e'ana ka'itE'Ei kia yabapEE ekai ukoyo i'iôônîâ.
Aber die erwähnte Frau wußte bereits, daß jene eine Dämonin war, die ihr Schlechtes anbot; denn sie gab ihr Schweinekot.
But the mentioned woman already knew, that that (one) was a (female) demon, who offered her bad (things); for she gave her pig-dung.
Tetapi wanita tersebut telah mengetahui, bahwa (yang satu) adalah iblis (wanita), yang menawarkannya hal-hal buruk; karena ia memberikan kotoran babi.

4. kabu'uaha kipu'uda emÊhÊnîâ yaha:E ixoo uboo.

"apu'uda emÊhÊ'Ê:û ka'u'ua enôhôâ", e'uahadia i'ioo 'ânônîâ hÊmô'ô kixÊhÊkûmâhâ:ê iyû'ûû ukomÊâ kanîÎ eko'oko'o.
“Meine Nahrung, deren Geschmack gut war, ist hinuntergefallen", waren ihre Worte zu ihrer Gefährtin, die auch in der Mitte der Brücke namens eko'oko'o sitzenblieb.
"My food, the taste of which was good, has fallen down", were her words to her companion, who also remained seated in the middle of the bridge named eko'oko'o.
“Makananku yang rasanya enak, jatuh”, demikian ucapnya kepada temannya, yang juga tetap duduk di tengah jembatan bernama eko'oko'o.

And she stepped down into the water, she dived, and she fetched the pig-dung that fell down earlier.
Dan ia turun ke dalam air, ia menyelam, dan ia mengambil kotoran babi yang telah jatuh.

kE'anaha kabupuaha ekaka e'ana yaida'a iuba, bE kia hoo mâhâ:ôhô i'ioo uko'E'E e'ana.
Und da floh jene Frau nach Hause, weil sie sich vor ner Dämonin fürchtete.
And at that that woman fled home, because she was scared of the (female) demon. 
Dan kemudian wanita itu bergegas lari ke rumah, karena ia takut pada iblis (wanita) itu.

5. kakôkônâhâ eko'E'E nÊ'Ênî hÊmô'ô kanînînôkî umÊhÊnâ kipu'uda yaha:E ixoo uboo, kabupIaha ekaka hoo bupua, ikEora iEhÊkûânîâ nÊ'Ênî.
5. (Als) die genannte Dämonin, die nach der Nahrung tauchte, die ins Wasser gefallen war, wieder herauskam, sah sie, daß der Mensch geflohen und von seinem Sitzplatz von vorhin verschwunden war.
5. (When) the mentioned (female) demon, who dived for the food, which had fallen in the water, came out again, she saw that the person had fled and disappeared from her seating-place from before.
5. (Ketika) iblis (wanita) yang dimaksud, yang menyelam untuk mencari makanan, yang telah jatuh ke air, keluar lagi, ia melihat bahwa orang itu telah melarikan diri dan menghilang dari tempat duduk sebelumnya.

"ai", e'uaha ukitai uko'E'E, "abupua ekabakE i'ioo'o:u.
“Oh", dachte da die Dämonin, “anscheinend ist die Missetäterin vor mir geflohen.
"Oh", the (female) demon thought at that, "the miscreant has seemingly fled from me.
"Oh," iblis (wanita) itu berpikir, "bajingan itu nampaknya telah melarikan diri dariku.

'oo inô'ôâhâmâ'â ipuaba'a i'ioo'o:u.
Wenn es so ist, ist sie vor mir fortgelaufen."
If it is so, she ran away from me."
Jika demikian, ia betul lari dariku. "

kabu'uaha nô'ô:î'îÊ eko'E'E e'ana bahitoa'a ekaka hÊmô'ô kipua i'iôônîâ   : "oi ekai ubiTi'iu ikokoi e'aadia; oi ekai u'arupa'a:u ikokoi e'aadia; oi ekai upânû'û ipanûkôhô:î kia!
Da sprach die Dämonin folgendermaßen einen Fluch über die Frau, die vor ihr geflohen war : “Oh, der Schmutz an meinem Oberschenkel lasse ihre Knochen faul werden; oh, der Schmutz in meiner Achselhöhle lasse ihre Knochen faul werden; oh, der Schmutz meiner Nase schläfere sie ein !
At that the (female) demon spoke (brought) a curse over the woman, who had fled before her, as follows: "Oh, let the dirt on my thigh make her bones rot; oh, let the dirt in my armpit make her bones rot; oh, let the dirt in my nose put her to sleep!
Saat itu si iblis (wanita) mengucapkan kutukan pada wanita, yang melarikan diri darinya, sebagai berikut: "Oh, biarkan kotoran di pahaku membuat tulangnya membusuk; oh, biarkan kotoran di ketiakku membuatnya tulang membusuk; oh, biarkan kotoran di hidungku membuatnya tertidur!

nô'ôâhâ 'ua ki'ua upahitoa'a i'iôônîâ!"
So (spreche ich einen =) lautet mein Fluch über sie!"
So (I speak a=) runs my curse over her!"
Jadi (aku) mengutuknya! "

6. kE'anaha kapooha edopo e'ana, kabu'uaha nô'ô:î'îÊ i'ioo upaE e'ana   : "i'iaha eu'uohoabu?
6. Und als es dann nachtete, sprach sie (d.i. die Mutter des Mädchens) folgendermaßen zu jenem Kind: “Wo ist dein Schlafplatz?
6. And when night then fell, she spoke (that is, the mother of the girl) as follows to her child: "Where is your sleeping-place?
6. Dan ketika malam tiba, ia (yaitu, ibu dari gadis itu) berkata sebagai berikut kepada anaknya: "Di mana tempat tidurmu?

'uoho hii nâÊnû"!
Schlafe mit deiner Mutter!"
Sleep with your mother!"
Tidurlah dengan ibumu! "

"kaua", e'uaha upaE e'ana.
“Ich will nicht", sagte das Mädchen.
"I do not want to", said the girl.
"Aku tidak mau," kata gadis itu.

"kE i'iahapE eu'uohoabu?
“Wo ist denn dein Schlafplatz?
"But where is your sleeping-place?
"Tapi di mana tempat tidurmu?

'uoho hii ÊhÊ:îmû!"
Schlafe mit deiner jüngeren Schwester !"
Sleep with your younger sister!"
Tidurlah dengan adik perempuanmu! "

"kaua, iyahîkô'ô:îyâ 'ua", epaE e'ana e'uahadia.
“Ich will nicht; denn sie wird mich benässen", sagte das Kind.
"I do not want to; for she will wet me (make me wet)", said the child.
"Aku tidak mau; karena ia akan mengompol (membuatku basah)," kata anak itu.

"kE kinônôpÊ?",
“Wie?",
"What?",
"Apa?"

e'uaha ama uhuda e'ana, "anô'âhâpûâ, abu'uoho 'o'o ikônôîNâ!",
sagte da der Vater jenes Mädchens, “wenn es so ist, dann schlafe auf dem Herdgerüst",
said the father of the girl at that, "if it is so, then sleep on the cooking-frame",
kata ayah dari gadis itu, "jika demikian, maka tidurlah di perapian",

e'uaha amânâ i'iôônîâ.
sprach sein Vater zu ihm.
spoke the father to her.
ayahnya berbicara kepadanya.

kabu'uaha   : "hE nô'ôâhâ, ka'u'ua eu'uohoa'a:u!"
Es sagte: “So sei es, (dann) ist mein Schlafplatz schon !"
It said: "So be it, (then) my sleeping-place is nice!"
Ia berkata: "Baiklah, (maka) tempat tidurku nyaman!"

kabu'uohoha iTita, ka kEahaba'a yainônô edopo e'ana.
Und es schlief dort, und es wurde bewußtlos.
And it slept there, and it became unconscious.
Dan ia pun tidur di sana, dan tidak sadarkan diri.

7. kabaha:Eha eko'E'E hÊmô'ô ki'o'obuda'a i'iôônîâ nÊ'Ênî kixoho, yapakahadEEha kia.
7. Da machte sich die Dämonin, die sich vorhin am Mittag mit ihm befaßt hatte, auf den Weg, und sie tötete es.
7. At that the (female) demon, who had occupied herself with it earlier at lunch-time, set out, and killed it.
7. Pada saat itulah si iblis (wanita), yang telah bersamanya pada saat makan siang, berangkat, dan membunuhnya.

kamûnôôhâ ehuda e'ana, kamûnâ'âhâ ekitai uhuda e'ana, kabIda ixÊâ hii kabIda iNâhâ uboo.
Sie fraß die Frau, sie nahm deren Eingeweide, und sie legte sie nach oben und auf die Wasserstelle.
She ate the woman, she took her entrails, and she laid them on top of the water-hole.
Ia memakan wanita itu, ia mengambil isi perutnya, dan ia meletakkannya di atas lubang air.

kabahadoha amânâ hii nâÊnâ, kibupIaha earada hoo ba'ao.
Als dann ihr Vater und ihre Mutter aufstanden, sahen sie, (daß) ihre Tochter bereits gestorben war.
When her father and mother then got up, they saw, (that) their daughter had already died.
Ketika ayah dan ibunya kemudian bangun, mereka melihat, (bahwa) putri mereka telah meninggal.

"aixoo mûnôô eko'E'E earaka", e'uaha ukaka e'ana, bE hoo ba'ao earada e'ana.
“Anscheinend hat eine Dämonin unser Kind gefressen", waren die Worte jener Leute, weil ihr Kind gestorben war.
"Seemingly a (female) demon has eaten our child", were the words of those people, because the child had died.
"Rupanya iblis (wanita) telah memakan anak kita", begitulah kata-kata mereka, karena si anak telah meninggal.

kinô'ôâhâ ehadIhIda ukIda'ayo uko'E'E ikômÊâ eko'oko'o e'ana.
So ist das Ende der Erzählung von der Dämonin auf der eko'oko'o-Brücke.
So is the end of the tale of the (female) demon on the eko'oko'o-bridge.
